Pastor

Mike Agnew has been serving as our pastor since July 2021. Originally from Hamburg, IA, Pastor Mike went to Asbury Theological Seminary and has been preaching regularly since 2003. He has previously served churches in Skidmore, Burr Oak, Sheridan, Grant City, and Denver, MO, Mt. Beulah U.M.C. in Kentucky, as well as serving full time in Eagle Grove, Wilton, and Harlan/Monroe Chapel, IA. He enjoys running, reading, and playing guitar. Financial Secretary
Sarah Cook has been serving as financial secretary since 2007. She graduated from the University of Iowa with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing and from Washburn University with a Master in Business Administration. Sarah has been the owner and operator of Cherokee General Store since October 1987.

Bell Choir Director
Dusty Basten started working for the church in the fall of 2021 and serves as our bell choir director. She graduated from the University of South Dakota in May of 2021 and is the middle school band director in Cherokee. A fun fact about Dusty is that she was actually a member of this bell choir when she was in high school.

Chris Andersen moved to Cherokee in 2017, after graduating from the University of Northern Iowa. He works for the Mental Health Institute but spends a lot of his time volunteering for the Community Theatre. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his friends and being active in the community. Some of his favorite things about Cherokee include the beautiful walking trails and taking his dog out for walks.
